We're 30, So put on your pearls, and party hearty with some Pluckin' Good Music
We're celebrating our 30th (pearls) season all summer long, but it will really reach fever pitch on July 11th when Guitar/Banjo/Mandolin superstar (and Door County favorite) Eric Lewis joins members of Midsummer's Music for a fun-filled gala extravaganza.
Eric will perform with us in Mozart's famous "Mandolin Aria" from Don Giovanni, and then we will join him for some of his best songs. We are going to "cross over" and maybe even "cross under"! In between, movements of Joachim Raff's Octet for Strings will mesmerize all with its 19th century German "hoedown" Bravura.
Beverages and hors d'oeuvers precede the exciting, light hearted, and fun filled program that offers a generously electric mixture of passion, drama, and comedy.
A special attraction will be the auction of 10 actual violins decorated by Door County's most celebrated artists. Each working violin will be a unique and prized collector's item and a fabulous conversation piece. One of the artists participating is our soloist himself, maestro Eric Lewis.
A bountiful and delicious catered buffet will round out the festivities - a perfect Door County Saturday afternoon/evening for all!
