Event Details

In partnership with the Rotary Club of Sturgeon Bay, Shoreline Boat Tours, and the Door County Maritime Museum, please join us for a tour of the Historic Sturgeon Bay Working Waterfront. Come and see the harbor Maritime businesses and learn more about the history of the beautiful waterfront that is home to Sturgeon Bay.

The specially designed unique narrated cruises are roughly 90 minutes long, focusing on multiple venues around the harbor and passing under the historic old steel bridge for an amazing water view of the Fincantieri Bay Shipbuilding facilities.

While the cruise is the highlight of the package, admissions to the one-of-a-kind Door County Maritime Museum and the new Kress Viewing Tower round-out the nautical history of the Sturgeon Bay Harbor. The Kress Tower is 9 stories high, with each story having a unique educational maritime theme. The 9th floor is dedicated to the Sturgeon Bay Working Waterfront.

Tours will touch on the histories of:

  1. Palmer Johnson Yachts
  2. Sturgeon Bay Old Steel Bridge
  3. Fincantieri Bay Shipbuilding
  4. Peterson Builders/Centerpointe Yacht Services
  5. Roen Salvage
  6. Coast Guard Cutter Mobile Bay
  7. Maritime Towing Tug Fleet
  8. American Fruit Growers Co-operative
  9. Door County Granary

The Cruises will be four times daily (8:15, 10:15, 12:45, 2:45) from Friday June 21st through Sunday June 23rd.

Cruise check-in and departure will be at the Shoreline Boat Tours dock, adjacent to the Door County Maritime Museum, 120 N. Madison Ave, Sturgeon Bay, WI. Please arrive 1/2 hour before the cruise and provide ticket confirmation either electronically or printed copy.

Tours are not handicap accessible.

Dress for the weather. Due to limited availability of tickets, there will be no refunds, but tours can be rescheduled through Shoreline Boat Tours and will honor the tickets through the end of the season. The Maritime Museum will honor admission through September 2nd. In the event of a cancellation, a gift certificate for the 2024 season to Shoreline Boat Tours will be issued and entrance provided to the Maritime Museum and Kress Viewing Tower via proof of purchase. Shoreline Boat Tours reserve the right to cancel any trip at any time due to extreme or unsafe weather conditions.

Proceeds from the cruise will serve as a fundraiser for the Sturgeon Bay Rotary Club, providing scholarships for youth, continuing education of adults, support for projects assisting affordable housing and childcare in Door County. Thank you!
